I use the factory tonneau cover when driving with the hood down. It's one of the best tonneaus I've seen: a heavy vinyl and cloth affair which is relatively easy to put on and take off and very snugly fitting, even in windy 70+ mph freeway traffic. (And don't we all love the slipstreams from semi rigs? =8^)) It's got a large zip right of middle allowing the passenger side to remain covered when you're driving solo. It will keep most birdies, kitties, overly curious passers by and even light rain out of the interior. This isn't recommended for heavy rains, though. Initial installation was easy. The four small, round plastic covers at the very front of the dashboard are replaced with studs for the Tenax fasteners and the mirrors are removed and them remounted over foam-padded steel plates which support the side snaps. The rear quarter Tenax studs and plastic lip surrounding the back of the cockpit are already in place. The driver's zip (a short, curved one allowing access to the shoulder belt) is chewing on a vinyl trim piece, and I've replaced two of the Tenax fasteners, but other than that my only gripe is the initial high price from the dealer. If a lower price than Mazda's can be found, a tonneau is a good buy. _________________________________________________________________ James Miller -- developing Unix software at (!)
