# sorts of RFI in their old Alfa. Does anyone have a Miata with these wires and # a stock radio? If so, have you experienced any interference do to the solid # core wires? The red wires sold by Racing Beat are wire wound wires. They are "radio suppression" wires. Because of their construction, they give almost identical performance to solid core racing wires. I used to have solid core wires on my Rx7. The ground from the body to the hood was good enough that as long as the hood waas closed they did not interfere with broadcast FM. However I decided that I wanted to use a VHF/UHF ham radio as well. The solid core wires caused RFI sufficient to wipe out everything except strong stations. I replaced the wires with the Racing Beat set that has the metal plug shields. The engine performance didn't change and the ham radio is absolutely quiet. They aren't cheap, but they do work if you've got an ignition noise problem. -- ****************************************************************************** * John Schubert; Hewlett Packard, ISD | The opinions contained herein * * Sunnyvale, California | are my own, because nobody * * INTERNET: jes@hpamsh4.hp.com | else wants them... * * CompuServe: >INTERNET:jes@hpamsh4.hp.com| * * or 72007,1334 | "Ban low performance drivers, * * HPDESK: HP2200/40 | not high performance cars." * ******************************************************************************
