> So what about the fuel filter? > Has anyone changed it, or had it changed? I changed mine myself at 30K miles. (I did what work I could at 30K and let a shop do the rest.) The hardest part was keeping fuel from spilling all over me, the hot trouble light I had under the car, and the garage floor. This is not easy because there's a direct line, facing down, between the tank and the filter. If you aren't careful you could drain all the gas in your tank right out. Make sure you either clamp the fuel lines closed before disconnecting them or have something handy which you are sure will plug the line securely for use right after you disconnect them. > Do you think the large size of the thing justifies letting it go 60,000 > miles between changes? No. Personally I change things (oil, trans & diff lubes, air & fuel filters, coolant, etc.) about twice as often as Mazda recommends. Things like the timing belt, though, I will leave until the 60K Mazda recommends. > Should I sell the Miata and get an MG again so I can talk to folks > who *work* on their cars? =8^) [insert Ren voice] WHAT?
