I changed the timing belt on my previous car, a Fiat 124 Spider, and that
was difficult enough that I don't think I want to risk it on my Miata.  I
see it as one of those things that I can brag about now but don't want to
repeat -- like skydiving and refilling the transmission with oil without a
lift or jackstands.  When my Miata needs the 60K service I'll take it back
to the reputable shop where I had the 30K service done, and stand next to
them while they're doing it.
