I had my exhaust buzzing, and located it to that same heat guard area.
A quick check of the manual revealed this to be the catalytic
convertor -- as if a chunk of the catalyst had broken off and was
bouncing around.  My dealer replaced the cat under warranty.  End of
problem.

I also had the lower windshield weatherstrip problem (also fixed under
warranty).

Now if I could just fix that accursed clutch lever chirp...
