worth every penny. I'd buy it again at twice the price. If you are concerned about the saftey of the car, you can look up its saftey record in the various car buying books available in book stores. Last time I checked, Consumer Reports rated the miata rated among the best in driver saftey, average in passenger saftey (or was it the other way around?), with head injuries being the most common complaint. It is not a death trap in the same sense that a fiberglass-bodied Corvette is. You can also load up a miata with goodies like anti-lock brakes and limited slip differential which can add to your safety. When you take a miata for a test drive, be sure and drive highway 34 from Philomath to Newport, and include a run up and down Mary's Peak. That has to be the second best drive in all of Oregon. The best is of course highway 242 from Belknap Springs to the Sisters lava bed, open maybe 4 months out of the year.
