Herb:

I've experienced a noise under similar circumstances.  It is a metallic,
ticking-like sound.  Sounds a little like a bolt is rattling around in a
hubcap.  It's been with the car since new, but only shows up occasionally.
Does this sound familiar.

I think replacing both the shock absorbers is what is usually done in
situations like this, though alot depends on what your dealer wants to
do under warranty.
