I purchased a used 1991 miata without a top boot. Is it worth $490 to buy a
new one from the dealer? It seems like it would be a pain to put it on and 
take it off. I am often afraid of rain, so that what I usually do is to
lower the roof, drive somewhere, then raise the roof again. I can't see
dealing with the top boot everytime.

P.S. Has anyone heard of any CARJACKINGS involving MIATA's ?
