WIDTH=78 TYPE=SIMPLE OUTPUT=TEXT *** Greetings! I've owned my 91 silver base model almost two years ago, and I've always had a sneaking suspicion that there MUST be a Miata group out there somewhere. I found out when I went hunting for the source of Popper (if you don't recognize the name, you don't need it). As soon as I SUBscribed I downloaded the archived mail messages, which brought a few questions to my mind (and I searched thoroughly: these AREN'T FAQs): 1) Does anyone have a 91 model that's been recalled for the catalytic converter problem that's been discussed here, or does it just involve 1990 models? I've moved since I bought my Miata, and it's been longer than the length of time the PO likes to forward mail (and I refuse to subscribe to Consumer Reports, yechhh! They wouldn't know a fun car if...) 2) Is it realistic to expect the chassis to remain properly lubed for the life of the car? My brother-in-law says he has the dealer punch out the plugs and attach grease nipples on "permanently lubed" vehicles; is that an option? I keep meaning to look when I change my oil, but I always forget. 3) Does anyone know (by any chance) how good a service department Rick Case Mazda in Atlanta has? I purchased out of state (see my header up there?) and haven't had to have any dealer service (yet? knock on wood?). My local dealer doesn't even have the setup to do an alignment (BTW, he's renowned for sticking "Thanks-a-lot Buzz" stickers on cars he sells, and they're not discrete little signs, either). Any help is appreciated, and sorry if this is wordy: it's just good to find fellow owners out there! MCA 13378 *** -- Jim (moore@email.ncsc.navy.mil) When in doubt, dike it out.
