Sorry if some of you have seen this twice, but I was unable to determine for certain whether it went out the first time... - Steve Bruun ************* >From sebruun Thu Oct 22 15:17:56 1992 To: King Cynic, miata@pravda.enet.dec.com Subject: Re: source for steel wheels (winter tires) Status: R Bill Jackson asks about where to find steel wheels for his Miata. Fact is, the Miata uses an extremely common wheel configuration: 14x5.5, 110mm (?) bolt circle, 40-45mm offset. Any wheel made to fit Toyota MR2's, VW Rabbits/Golfs/Jettas, Honda Accords, perhaps even Acura Integras, and probably a bunch of other cars will work just fine, especially shod with snow tires for winter driving. In fact, I have used the spare 13" wheel from my Rabbit pickup as an emergency spare on my car, and it fit like a glove. I'll bet you can find a whole sh*tload of rusting Accords and Rabbits at your local boneyard, so you shouldn't have any trouble finding a nice matched set. You may want to clean them up and shoot them with a couple of coats of Rustoleum, but after that it's clear sailing. - Steve Bruun
