To Tim Kelley and others on replacement of the softtop;  having had one done
badly in the past, I recommend, along with Herb Samuels, that you consider it
carefully.  It would be no      nice to get a new top/window, and if you do,
check over the installation very carefully.  The job is a very tough one.
Personally, I hate to have major work done when it isn't absolutely necessary.
 
By the way, I too wonder just what the velcro patches do with the top up.  On
any Miata I've seen, they don't seem to do anything except hold the blue
plastic window protectors in. (used for shipping)
