I called up the Redline people and had them send me their propaganda. It's all very technical and very convincing -- I decided to try their transmission oil (MT-90), diff oil (75W-90), and the "Water Wetter". I changed the transmission oil over the weekend. You'll need a pump for this. Someone on team.net suggested pouring the oil down the shifter hole. This does not work for the Miata (as I found out -- and can get quite messy). The transmission oil capacity is rated at 2.1 qts, but two quarts of replacement oil will suffice. Get the MT-90 rather than the MTL since Mazda specifies a 90wt oil for the transmission. The transmission does seem to shift easier when cold. I suspect the diff oil and "Water Wetter" changes will be more subtle. Michael (mcb@vnet.ibm.com)
