Let me know how the diff oil works out. I've thought about trying it but no one I've talked to knows for sure if it's a good replacement oil for the stock LSD. Is there some claimed advantages for using the stuff. >I changed the transmission oil over the weekend. You'll need a pump for >this. Someone on team.net suggested pouring the oil down the shifter hole. >This does not work for the Miata (as I found out -- and can get quite messy). >The transmission oil capacity is rated at 2.1 qts, but two quarts of >replacement oil will suffice. Get the MT-90 rather than the MTL since >Mazda specifies a 90wt oil for the transmission. Horton Performance up he recommends the MTL. Maybe they do so because of the colder weather up here. >The transmission does seem to shift easier when cold. I suspect the diff >oil and "Water Wetter" changes will be more subtle. MTL feels like Armor All, what an improvement! I bought some for my new "2nd car", an '88 Merkur XR4Ti and went to put it in and guess what? No drain plug (just a filler plug)! I need to figure out how to get the old oil out so I can get the MTL in. Someone suggested waiting until the trans is out the next time the clutch is replaced. - Alan P.S. I'm still waffling on the SD Tour. Airfair looks to be not bad at $200 rt, but I'm not sure how much room+food, etc will run. I've also spent big $$$ on the Merkur lately. Still, if I sell my truck and the Millen muffler money won't be a problem. I'll keep you informed...
