I've had my Miata for a little over 3 years but do not have much milage (12,800). I recently drove a 1993 Miata and noticed some subtle differences in the throttle response and clutch uptake. These may not be differences in design but that my car needs some adjustment or other work. First, there is a very slight throttle hesitation from the idle position. I changes my spark plugs about 6,000 miles ago to Splitfite plugs and noticed an improvment in throttle response at that time. The plugs now still look O.K. Does anyone have any suggestions? The dealer, who usually knows nothing, said that there is no problem. The second problem is a slight hesitation at the beginning of clutch engagement when starting off in 1st gear. Otherwise the clutch works fine. Can it be adjusted or is it the beginning sign of clutch wear? I am asking both questions because I plan to install a BBR turbo and am wondering whether these two problems can be adjusted during the installation (the engine and flywheel are removed). If it is early clutch wear, perhaps the clutch should be replaced since the BBR turbo Miata has about 150 horsepower and 150 ft-lb of torque. Thanks for any suggestions and best wishes for a new year to all on the Miata List. Herb Samuels
