John (and others) I've taken to modify my ashtray with a piece of rubber (from the left-over cove modling from my kitchen) so that the change doesn't slip back beyond the sliding cover. That way, I don't have to take the ashtray out and tip it forward when I want some change. It's relatively simple to do (thanks to Mazda putting the ashtray together with screws and not with glue) William M.
