Okay, I'm finally getting started on my FAQ-file, and because of a near run-in
with two deer on a wet night last weekend, I've decided to start with tires.

Posts from the past have always asked, "What is the best tire for the Miata?"
That, in my opinion, seems to be a loaded (and volatile) question.  Few people
argue the notion that the stock tires aren't the most effective, but the tires
that one should replace them with should depend on how the car is driven.  I
think the question should be replaced with a series of questions, such as:

1) What should I look for when buying a tire?  I do/don't race, do I actually
need tire xxx?  Even though I do/don't race, would tire yyy be the best for
me and my car?

2) What am I going to have to worry about if I change tire sizes?

3) (In a vein with older questions, but repeated once more to get a current
sampling..)  What tires have others used?  (Including brand/name/size)  What
1-2 line comment do you have on that tire?
