Actually, you cannot compare the NHTSA ratings (treadwear, heat, traction) between two different brands. The ratings can only be used to compare tires *within* a brand (i.e. a Michelin tire with a treadwear rating of 280 will last twice as long as a Michelin rated at 140). Each manufacturer sets up the tests in accordance to government rules, but they set their own baseline (i.e. the tire rated 100). Just another case of government-mandated, misleading information.
