This might not be an Do you really need new brake pads, battery and muffler after only 15,000 miles? My car has 60,000 and I just relined the brakes for the first time and I've auto-xed the car for 3 years, one of those with two drivers. My battery and exhaust are OK and I have a normal steel Millen muffler, not the stainless stock one. I haven't traded in a Miata but those prices seem a bit high given the good resale value of used Miatas and the deep discounts I've seen on new ones. For autocrossers (and other racers) Mazda Motorsports has a vehicle purchase program that will sell you a car for $300 over dealer cost. Of course you'd have to sell you old car outright first. - Alan
