The Miata has stainless steel muffler which should last more than 15k miles. I had to replaced my stainless muffler on my old 911 at 90k kms (~60k miles), because the inside was burned through, though the outside looked perfect; but then I always drove flat out as often as feasible in Germany when I lived there. Herb, Did you install your BBR? mine is doing great.
