From: (none) Subject: There's a Cricket Under My Hood Date: (none)
Ahem. At the risk of sounding REALLY unsophisticated, I have a squeaky noise coming from the top rear of the engine at just off idle. It's a constant chirp that doesn't go up or down in pitch or frequency. Applying any clutch pedal pressure at all makes the noise go away. I usually only hear it around 20mph with the top down, but I think that's just because of the lack of wind and road noise. I thought at first that it was belt noise before I lifted the hood and traced it down to just at the firewall. Any ideas? The right side of my baby was just raped by the 88 Caravan that my CDC field engineer drives, so I'll be taking it to Rick Case Mazda in Atlanta for body work, as well as a fix to my lack of backup lights, so any help is appreciated. -- Jim (moore@email.ncsc.navy.mil) Galahad: Please, please. I can defeat them; there's only a hundred and fifty of them! (is dragged out the door) Dingo: Yes, yes, he'll beat us easily... we haven't a chance! Others: No, we haven't a chance! We haven't a chance!!!
