Hi,

  I am very serious about buying a Miata in the next few months, and
I have a few questions that I thought someone here could answer.

1) Is there a list of recalls and various updates/changes between different
   year models?

2) Is there an easy way to be sure that a car has ABS without driving it?
   How about a limited slip differential?

3) How much difference is there between manual and power steering.  I
   have a set of 15x7" Millen Panasports already, so my only reason for
   buying the 'A' package would be power steering.  I am more concerned
   with the diference the steering ratio makes in turning than the effort
   required to steer.  Is adding power steering afterwards possible/reasonable?
   (in case my next of kin have to sell it)

4) I noticed that black is available for 1993 as a standard color.  Has anyone
   seen a black Miata with the 'normal' black interior and hood?  The tan
   leather just dosen't quite do it for me.

I have a budget of about $15K.  I have looked at some base 1990 models for
about 9K and a 'B' package 1991 with hardtop for $13,500.  I have noticed
quite a few leftover 1992 'A' package cars on lots that would probably
just barely slip into my budget.  I could probably wait another month
and order a bare '93 model from a broker for about 16K.  Any comments or
advice on buying a 'pre-owned' vs. a new car?  Realize that the less I spend,
the more money I have for suspension bits and other goodies.
