Jamie Zawinskiwrote complaining about beat up miatas... As far as door dings go, I strongly recommend an outfit called "DENTWORKS" which is franchised so far as I know. Ther is one in Rockville, MD which took a ding out of my trunk (put in by the installer of the alarm 3 days after I took delivery of the bloody car!) with no paint, no drips, no errors. Can't tell it was ever there. These dentworks folk are secretive about their technique (I heard rumor that it costs a quater million $ to join the club...) but it works. Commonly used by the dealers and used auto lots to fix problems. Costs about $75 a dent. I was wondering - Does anyone else living in an urban area notice that miatas parked on streets (parallel parking) end up with the front license plate and bracket smushed into the front bumper quite unattractively? I am stupidly careful about parking on the end of streets, or at least in a spot where no legal spot exists in front of me, and so far (got my car in April '92) have not fallen victim to this plague (I have off street parking at my apartment...). Does anyone have an idea on this other than being careful and/or removing the front plate, which of course is ugly anyway... Sometimes I want to throw out bumpers like you do to keep a boat from smashing up against a piling or pier! -Marc Salit
