i think the time has finally come to replace my shocks
(40K miles and things could be better...)
so, does anyone have any advice re: replacement shocks?

my requirements are:
   - should be about the same firmness as the stock shocks,
     i really don't want to give up much (any?) ride quality,
     given the roads i have to drive on.
   - should be high quality and long-lasting
   - don't need (or want to pay for) adjustability features
   - price isn't terribly important

i've seen some mentioned in the Racing Beat and Rod Millen ads,
but i have no idea how these compare with the stock setup.
if anyone has installed some, i'd appreciate comments.
(negative comments are useful too, they'll tell me which ones
NOT to buy :-)
