From: (none) Subject: Oil Pressure Gauge (Beginners Question) Date: (none)
Let me start off by saying I don't know much about driving or cars. That said, why does the miata (or any car) have an oil pressure gauge? I can justify the other four gauges to a certain extent, although I'd be equally happy if the fuel gauge was just a "low fuel" light, and the temperature gauge was a "too cold/too hot" warning light. But the oil pressure gauge tells me absolutely no information. It is either at a positive value (i.e. engine is running) or at zero (i.e. engine is dead). Is it useful for debugging the odd oils and lubricants recommended on this mailing list? Does anybody use this gauge for anything? Just curious, MattSkew mattsq@microsoft.com
