I too have no intention of trading in my Miata.  I think it will make that
great second car, to tinker with until the end of time. (That is when I
make it a second car, currently it is my only car.)

I have no idea why some others feel a need to get rid of it, even to replace
it with a newer Miata.  Come on, the new ones are no different from the
one you already have, (except for a few minor details).
