In reference to several folks who have spoken about their paint problems: A month or so I noticed that the red paint on the hood and trunk of my '92 was failing. Specifically, there were small black blemishes on the paint that when polished, chipped right through to the white/grey primer. There were several dozen of these spots, along with some that had already gotton through to the primer without being polished. After looking at a couple of other red Miatas that appear to have a similar problem, I gave the car a good wax and buff -- to better reveal the problem -- and took it to the dealer from whom I bought it this morning, fearing the worse. To my great surprise, he has offered to repaint the entire car. The dealer is Bill Brown Volkswagen/Mazda; the car is just under one year old -- still within "fit and finish" I would think. Additionally, I complained that my right front speaker was "rattling". He declared it damaged by water, and is replacing the speaker. Anyone else having similar problems with red or other paint? =V= -- Vick De Giorgio - vick.degiorgio@oau.org - vickde@vicstoy.oau.org - vickde@vicstoy.UUCP - ...!{peora,ge-dab,tous,tarpit}!bilver!vicstoy!vickde
