Now that the price has come down a bit on the BBR turbo, I'm interested in hearing if anyone in the group has installed it and what the reactions are. From what I can tell the installation kit looks pretty complete and the horsepower increase is in line with what I'm looking for. Also, anyone do the installation themselves? Finally, a local performance shop carries some carbon/kevlar brake pads for the Miata. They claim that the only disadvantage is the price, $175 for the front pads alone. Apparently they result in much less rotor wear, less pad wear, and super stopping power. Unlike some pads (carbon/metallic?) these don't have to be "run hot" (my words) in order to stop the car quickly. All of this sounds good to me, but I'm interested in hearing other opinions before opening my wallet. BTW: The sun came out last weekend in Oregon, temperatures in the 50's. Spent Sunday afternoon reaquainting myself with top-down and rear-wheel drive! Paired up with a friend, who drives a Lotus Elan. A hell of a lot of fun chasing each other through hairpin turns. The speeds they post on the turn signs _are_ just suggestions aren't they??? :-) jdm (MCA# 308) -- ================================================================================ _ / Jeff Maurer, Sr. Analyst _ ___/ _ __ Service Applications, Sequent Computer Systems, Inc. / / / / / / Uucp: ...!uunet!sequent!jdm / /__/_/ / Internet: jdm@sequent.com __/ (503) 578-5062 "Ignorance and prejudice and fear go hand in hand."
