From: (none) Subject: Rain Performance of Miata/MX5 Date: (none)
Well, Saturday was the first time I've autocrossed the Miata in the rain. First wet autox for me for several years, in fact. It showed. How is Miata performance in wet weather? (I'm mostly asking those of you who are blessed with climates that have more than one season). I'm proud to say that at least I didn't finish last -- there was a first- timer who I was able to squeek by... the other miata came in second or third, behind a ((shudder)) Mercury Capri. Oh, the ignomy! the shame! My excuse is that I didn't get to walk the course. I'm still running stock shocks, Yoko RS tires, and a semi-agressive alingment. Do stiffer shocks help in the rain? Dry? I'm loath to spend $500 on shocks until I'm only losing by a few tenths or hundreds, rather than seconds.
