In general, I've found my Miata to be quite happy during wet-weather autocrossing. I've had a number of opportunities to try it, and have been pleasantly surprised. I think the fact that the car is so well balanced plays a major role in this. The Yokohamas are pretty decent tires in the rain; I'm not sure how they do it, but they do. With respect to shocks, I would expect them to have much less effect in the wet in terms of the advantage of trick vs. stock. In fact, I set my GABs a click or two softer when the surface is wet, since I've found that you want a bit more compliance in the suspension when the conditions are less than optimal. However, I think the trick shocks are a big win when it's dry. You'll thank yourself for spending the bucks while you're kicking yourself for not having done it sooner. I won't reopen the GAB vs. Koni debate, though... - Steve Bruun
