From: (none) Subject: rattles, dents, etc - oh boy! Date: (none)
If a blank meesage comes through with my name on it - excuse me. I'm having trouble pasting text from my word processor. I'll just retype the note this time! Re: rattles - I had the same rattle at 3500 rpm and it was attributed to a heat shield somewhere. After the dealer "fixed" the rattle it came back (immediately) at 3900 rpm! I tokk the car back this morning and mentioned the converter bracket to the service advisor. When the mechanic was finished I was told a new exhaust pipe was being ordered to solve the problem - go figure! I will find out next week if that solves my rattle. I really have to get some good communication software so I don't get interupted while I'm typing! About the trunk dents - beware the lack of protection in the trunk on the driver's side. Any firm object loose in the trunk will dent the left side body panel. I keep a flannel picnic blanket in the niche to protect the body. Other people use foam pads bought through the magazine or foam "kneeling pads" from garden supply places or the likes of K-Mart. Has anyone had a problem with the rear window distorting? Since I first bought my Miata last year, I have been protecting the window whenever the top is down and I clean it regularly. However, there have been some dime sized blips appearring here and there. There dealer says it's normal. Any thoughts or opinions? -amp- alex m. postpischil albabe@macc.wisc.edu -no clever comments or footers here, too busy being a grad student!
