My guess is you either have defective plastic or something spilled on your rear window. I'd push to get it replaced under warranty. If it's "normal", it would appear on the majority of Miatas. I've never seen it on *any*! Once, a long time ago, Exxon had an explosion at one of their refineries. I was driving about 10 miles away from it and didn't know about it. As I was driving, the "rain drops" that were on my windshield on that sunny day were smearing when I used the wipers! Later that night, I heard on the radio about the accident. Exxon ended up paying to have my car waxed by a professional to clean it up. Anyway, what I'm getting at is maybe something got on your rear window and you don't know it. Good luck. ...Gary
