I have always been under the impression that convertibles were for enjoying a nice slow, liesurely drive in the country! :) I mean speed limits are for those of us who want to make everyone passing us jealous, right?! Personally, 70 is just fine for me on the highways. Being a grad student I have to watch my fuel consumption (gotta pay for gas somehow). At 70 I can get 35 mpg, even with the top down. But alas, I too have a little bit of Speed Racer in me. Once I was late getting to Cedar Rapids, IA (I think I was going to a corn harvest or hog calling thing (a regional joke)). Yes, the Miata handles very well at 115 for extended lengths of time (about 30 minutes). The ride felt so nice I didn't even think I was going over 75ish. SO, enjoy the ride and be aware of the ever present members of the law enforcement community. I'm driving from WI down through the MD/DC area and down to NC this weekend, then back next week. If you see a red 92 with WI plates "ALS MX5," feel free to honk or stop me and chat. Happy Motoring -amp-
