Gee, I did that too (though I was motiviated more by having a screwdriver and
some time on my hands than anything else...)  If you take it off by popping
off the plastic cover and unscrewing the arm from the "roof", everything
should be fine.  If you take the mirror itself apart such that ball-and-socket
joint comes undone, then as far as I can tell, you're completely fucked.  It
looks to me like you'd have to un-glue the glass to be able to re-assemble it.

I took the opportunity to buy a mirror that had interior lights built in to
its underside; it's really, really great.  (I don't remember who makes it, but
I sent a message about it to this list a while ago, so it's in the archives.)
