I've seen a new item called the "Immobilizer." It's not an 
alarm, but it is a security device that can be used in 
conjuction with an alarm.

Basically it's a kill switch. The twist is that it can be used 
to kill 4 systems at once. To start the car requires the 
operator to insert a special card key. They are being used
in Europe on rental cars and are reported to be highly
effective. The only way your car can be stolen is for
someone to tow it. 

Cons: You need a GOOD mechanic with a GOOD background with
electrical systems, no Gobers. It's only available from
a Multi-Level-Marketing Company in the US, Quorom.
