Al Jenab asks about the Jackson Racing Modification (Old) for the Miata. I have not had any direct experience with the system but did speak with several pepole who had the system or to several mechanics who installed the system. One major problem is engine computer management system which piggybacks on the Mazda system. There have been significant problems with the system with poor idleing and drivability. Jackson would usually replace it with no problem. However, if it is discontinued you could be stuck. Also, I don't think that the performance upgrade was that great for the money; 0-60 of 8.9 sec which is just about 0.5 sec from stock (according to Miata Magazine). To do better you have to install a new header and exhaust system. Also from my reading of the Miata Magazine article (between the lines), I didn't get the impression that they thought that the conversion was that good. Herb Samuels
