I have the Hella H4's in my Miata and love them.  I originally got  
them for Monte Carlo Rallyes, but love them just for driving around.   
"I have friend" who also has Osram 80/100 watt bulbs, and I haven't  
-- I mean, "he" hasn't noticed any problems except for a tone that  
sometimes comes from the switch when the high beams are on.  It goes  
away if you jiggle the stalk.

It's probably a good idea to add a relay if you're going to do this.   
Please let me know what you learn if you do.
