From: (none) Subject: Buying a miata Date: (none)
Well, I'm getting ready to take the plunge and buy a miata. I've been eyeing them since I first saw a red one parked with the top down in the summer of '89. Now my old Rx-7 is dying quickly and I'm looking for a replacement. I'd like to ask people here for some advice on getting a fair deal. I saw this blurb in the Dec-92 miata archive: > For autocrossers (and other racers) Mazda Motorsports has a vehicle > purchase program that will sell you a car for $300 over dealer cost. > Of course you'd have to sell you old car outright first. Sounds good to me. Anyone have a contact number for Mazda Motorsports? Is there a membership fee? A test? :) I'm not an autocrosser currently, but I am interested. I think I'll get a package A model: I like the wheels and headrest speakers (new in '93 I was told), power mirrors sound nice too, I don't care too much about power steering. What I would like is to put in a CD player. Any advice? I'd like something with a detachable face plate, or else a trunk mounted cd-changer. Can anyone tell me if the standard radio can control a CD changer? I mean in the sense of really having the CD controls, not just tuning to some frequency and having the changer broadcast. Any other words of advice? cheers, --mike (carlton@isi.edu)
