Does it really work? my first response is: "wimp! why'd you buy a convertible, anyway?!" :-) the second is: i've seen two windblockers advertised, though i haven't tried either one. one is a clear stiff plastic panel that fits behind the seats, similar to the standard fold-up version on the 2nd gen. RX7s. i seem to recall the review in the club magazine said it worked all right but they had some reservations about the quality. the other one that you mention, that fits across the two seatbacks, probably works okay, but also would seem to require the seats be more-or-less at the same angle (i'm sure there's a little flexibility). also, i'm not sure if the wind might make some noise filtering in and around it, esp. since it doesn't fit flush with the deck of the car (like the panel). might be worth a try, though. personally, i've never felt the airflow to be much of an issue, even at speeds of 80mph, but i guess everyone has their own opinion on "what's ok and what's not"...
