James Adams asks about the suitability of 195/55-14 Dunlop D40-M2 tires on the factory alloys. They'll fit with no problems, but the diameter of the tires will be suboptimal, meaning you'll turn higher revs to maintain the same speed and your speedometer will be off by a bit. They'll also look a little peculiar since the stock 185/60-14s really don't do a very good job of filling those big fender wells already, and the 195/55s will be even shorter. You would be better off with 205/55-14s. They will also fit the stock alloys, are almost exactly the same diameter as the 185/60 OEMs, and will do a much better job of filling the fenders. I'm running 205/55-14 Yokohamas on stock size Panasports for soloing (slightly wider offset) and have had no trouble with them rubbing either the fenders or the suspension (and they look great). Wish I'd ordered 205/55-14s when I replaced the horrible stock Bridge- stones with Yoko AVS-Is for street use, but I stuck with 185/60s. Oh, well. Next time... And by the way, those AVS-Intermediates are fantastic! - Steve Bruun
