I can imagine that it might be. The Miata owner's manual says that the balance control on the stock stereos *doesn't* affect the headrest speakers. I imagine that an after-market stereo would most likely adjust balance on both mains & headrests. Along these lines, I'm assuming that one would use the front-rear fader knob on another stereo to adjust the main-to-headrest balance. Any problem here with overdriving those itty-bitty headrest speakers? Seems the stock unit drives them much less than the mains. Russ Croman (soon to be...)
