On page 70 of the Spring '93 _Miata Magazine_ Noel Christensen of the Boeing Employee's Autosport Club (BEAC) tells about their annual "common car" event where everyone drives the same car all day long. This year the common car was a Miata. What Noel didn't say is _where_ the Miata came from. It was (unknowingly) courtesy of Enterprise Rent-A-Car :-). The car (Package "B" w/auto) was picked up Saturday morning and taken to Puget Sound Tire where it was given a street/autocross alignment (actually the same settings as my car). The spare alloys were my race alloys and the tires were some 3-year-old A008R's that my roommate Jim had. As Noel stated the brakes were still A-OK, but that's not surprising considering the 60K and 3 years of autocrossing I got out of my brakes. No, Enterprise never knew what their car was used for and somewhere in Seattle there is someone driving around in a rental Miata that's unusually responsive :-). BTW: Please don't tell them, BEAC might like to do it again :-). Now you know the rest of the story...
