I agree.  Even an early issue of the MCA magazine said that you should
find the redline after the proper break-in period.  The first time it
happened to me was on a freeway on ramp.  I wasn't expecting it and it
scared the crap out of me for about 2 seconds until I realized what had
happened.  If nothing else it's worth finding the rev limiter just to
get familiar with how it cuts in.  The Miata engine really does come
alive between 5000 and 7000 rpm's.
