i can sympathize with the salt, but i'd beg to differ about the snow,
as long as we're not talking extremely deep snow (after all, there's
not much underbody clearance...).

i've found that with a good set of snow tires (Nokia Hakka 10's),
the Miata is Just Fine in the winter wonderland.  certainly the
stock tires are useless in the snow (and at most other times too).
granted, there are some limitations due to it being RWD and light
weight, but i haven't gotten stuck yet.  my wife drives hers to go
skiing all the time.

anyway, why are we talking about snow?! it's Spring! :-)
