Pardon my ignorance, but what do you mean by a microwave field gadget"?

What I'd love to find for my alarm system is a remote transmitter.  Not
the type to turn on/off the alarm, but to notify me when something is
attempting to enter my car.  The horn does nothing except perhaps scare
off novice burglars (although Andy's idea about putting the horn under
the dash might have a bit more of a reaction when it goes off...  :^).
