Re: That green stuff. No, my shorts were not under the snow. They were under the heaps of longjohns and sweaters! Re: Alarms. I have the Alpine 8040 in my 92b (installed Dec 92). This unit has the capability to use the Alpine 8200 pager. The pager is a two channel unit that flashes a green LED when the outer perimeter is broken (and chirps). It flashes a red LED (beeps for both, too) when the inner zone is broken or when the doors, trunk, or hood is opened. In theory, the pager has a half mile range, but in some instances mine has not worked from more than a quarter mile. The alarm also has the ability to disarm the outer zone for times when there is heavy foot traffic in close proximity to the car (I disable mine in my parking garage). So far I have had only two problems with my system, the remote on/off switch doesn't work well unless I'm less than 10 feet away and once in Greensboro, NC the alarm falsed every hour on the hour (hasn't happened since). Re: dealers web's. When I mentioned to my dealer about the brake fluid leak in my car and that I wanted the paint repaired, the service writer said that Mazda's part caused the damage and I would have to talk to Mazda about having the damage fixed! OK, isn't the dealer a representative of the auto maker? Does this mean that every time I want to have Mazda's car fixed I should call Irvine and request that a rep be sent out just to fix my car? I'm still shaking my head and trying to figure out that one! Aren't car dealers wonderful places to find some good laughs!? ;-) -amp-
