That means they expect to get more income then they'll have to pay out in claims. Most extended warranties have deductibles. *That* adds to the cost. In addition, they exclude a number of things. *That* also adds to the cost. Finally, many of them attach conditions so they end up not having to pay for a repair even if it *isn't* excluded. Conditions might be that you have to bring in the car for annual inspection, or you have to have it serviced by the dealer at all of the recommended maintenance intervals, whatever. If I were you, (and in some ways I am since I also use the Miata for my primary commuting vehicle at 30,000 miles per year), I'd save the money and use it *if* you need a repair. ******************************************************************** Gary J.
