Yea, I could never understand how automakers could spend a billion dollars developing a decent but rather mundane automobile. I remember back in the late eighties there was a Ford commercial with Lindsey Wagner pitching the then new Ford Thunderbird that they claimed they spent a $1,000,000,000 developing. I really found that hard to believe. It would be really interesting to get a detailed list on the costs of developing a new car. I'm sure Ford must have included the costs of new buildings, and production lines in that figure, but I still am rather incredulous at those kinds of numbers. If anyone could shed some light on what goes into developing a new car I would appreciate it. Derek
