Sounds like a great vacation! Have fun. > > I really can't wait to do this! But first, a couple of questions: Say that right after you get back. :-{) > 1) Any tips on places to go or things to see? > 2) Any Miata specific packing tips? (I've never done more than 3 days > with both of us in the Miata.) It's very simple. Pack as for a motorcycle trip. Here's how it works: You get out all the stuff you'd normally take on such a trip, then put half of it back because you're short on space. Don't bother with dinner jackets, ties, cocktail dresses, and that sort of thing. Now, you've got a small mound of stuff on your bed. Put half of it back. (yes, that means you've got 25% of what you started with) You're *certainly* going to wear slacks more than one day, probably three or four days. Shirts can be worn twice. You get the picture yet? Ideally, everything fits in the bag(s) you've got for your trunk. If it doesn't, put more stuff back. Now pack your stuff in your bags. Put your bags in the trunk, then open them and start taking stuff out. :-{) You have to do this because you want room for a souvenier or two, a camera, lots of suntan lotion, etc. You may need to do laundry on the trip, depending on how fastidious you are. You won't be dirty, but you also won't have fresh clothes morning and evening. In my experience, (we've done two 10 day trips in my Miata) you can probably pack as much as two weeks worth of stuff in the trunk. At that point, you start doing laundry on the way, and then the sky's the limit on trip length. Another clue: put your top up from 11 to 2 or so. The sun gets *really* fierce, and the (relative) quiet lets you rest a bit. > 3) Anyone interested in caravaning with us for part of the trip? I'd love to. Unfortunately, you're going the wrong way. :-{) -- Ken *=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=* Ken Warren |"Nothing good has ever been reported about the | full rotation of a race car about either its E-Mail: kenw@netaxs.com| pitch or roll axis."
