While the Mazda service manual is very useful, it is noticeably lacking in "tricks" (e.g., use string to remove the eyeball vents from the dash). I think it's well worth owning, but it still leaves a lot unsaid. Josh **************** I found using string to remove the eyeball vents a very difficult procedure. In fact, I spent too much time trying (unsuccessfully) to get the stupid string through the holes. I ended up using needle nose pliers. Put a cloth over the vent to prevent leaving a mark, use the pliers to grab the center point of the vent, and pull. It pops out nicely and without the frustration of that limp string. Mary
