I don't know about yours, but the rear window in my Miata does not lie flat.
It turns up at the back, about 3-4 inches from the bottom.  A glass window
would not work.

You could make the window smaller, so that it would lie flat, but then
you would not be able to see out very well.  The Miata's outward
vision is already limited, without a smaller back window.
